The biggest scientific project using Passive Seismic exploration methods is being launched and Seismotech is part of it!

Seismotech, along with CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas), ISTerre (Institut des Sciences de la Terre) and OMP (Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées), will participate in this innovative effort.

The project is coordinated by BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières).

The project will take place in an area of 1500km2, located in the region of Mauleon. Seismotech will install 200 short-period stations, which along with 200 3C geophone nodes and 50 broadband stations, will be part of a greater passive seismic network that will be exploited for scientific research. Recording will begin on the 1st of April 2017 and is expected to end on the 30th of September 2017.
